Plus Sized Fashion – Eloquii

After I wrote my blog post earlier about trying to change my self-image, I realised that if a 10-minute makeover could make me feel so much better about myself, I could feel a WHOLE lot better if I dressed a little better, too!

But where to start? Not knowing much about fashion, I figured a good place to start would be a general google search for plus sized fashion. Granted, I’m not as large as I once was, but at a size 14, I could do with no shopping at the teeny-bopper section of my local WalMart. Plus, now that I’ve hit 30, I think I need to start investing in clothes that will still be usable far in the future. I think they are called “classic pieces.” Hehe.

So I conferred with Sir Google and brought up some fresh results. And lo and behold, the first link I clicked on was plus sized gold!

Eloquii is a great resource for getting bespoke style tips based on your own personal shape. Simply visit their “Shape My Style” section, and use your measurements to define your own body shape. Then, the site will actually take you to clothes that will flatter you the best.

I have found out that I am the body type “Infinity,” which is the new-school way of saying “Hourglass.”

Still, there’s no arguing with the results! I can see myself in any one of these amazing outfits!

Eloquii

1. Signature 3/4 Sleeve Wrap Dress $46.99

I LOVE this dress. The color is amazing and would bring out my blue eyes and dark hair wonderfully. I love the way it sits on the bust (always a big concern for me!) and the way it drapes beautifully without clinging on to the lumps and bumps. So gorgeous.

2. Polka Dot Ruffle Dress $88.00

This is a great summery dress, perfect for a Sunday tea party or a picnic on the beach. Not my usual style, but if it can fit over my ample busom without making me look like a giant spotted tea cosy, I’m IN!

3. Strapless Plaid Party Dress $31.99

How much do I love this one?? What I wouldn’t give! Though I hate my arms, I’ve always been a sucker for a good strapless dress. They always seem to flatter me, and I love the way I feel in them. This one is fab as it has a dark edge to it, while still maintaining a sort of good-girl vibe. And the price is a STEAL!

4. Draped One Shoulder Dress $87.20

This dress is sex on a stick. The ruching (is that what you call it?) of the dress makes sure it won’t cling to your wibbly bits, and it has the flattery of a strapless dress with the security of a sleeve. What’s not to love? And the flashy red color will definitely draw attention!

5. Draped Neck Ruched Sleeve Top $21.99

This is such a cute top. Totally my style, and I reckon I’d wear it at least once a week!

6. Short Sleeve Crochet Sweater $50.00

Really cute. And perfect for someone like me who loves sweaters but is living in a hot climate. You could wear various colored tank tops underneath and have a new look every time!

7. Draped Dolman Sleeve Top $42.90

This is a cute top. I like that it’s clingy and loose at the same time, which gives an illusion of confidence. The great thing is you don’t even really NEED to be confident as the shirt seems to hide the bits you don’t like. Perfect summer top.

8. Divine Knit Drape Front Jacket $98.00

I’m a sucker for a good drape front jacket. I had several which I had to give away in the weeks before we moved here. I knew there’d be no need for them in Florida, but I still love them to bits. I think this one has a classic look that would appeal for years to come.

9. Top Stitch Jacket $138.00

I LOVE this one. The color, the cut, everything. I LOVE jackets, but with my breasts, I’ve never been able to wear any that flattered. This one is tailored in such a way as to be flattering to the boobs but with the added bonus of being long enough to cover my saddle bags. *swoon*

Originally, I had intended to do a whole big post about plus sized fashion and where you can get some great pieces at different shops. But when I saw this brand, I was so blown away that I had to give it its own post. Maybe I’ll make it a weekly feature to do some sort of plus-sized fashion post.

And for the record – I have no affiliation with Eloquii, and all links and opinions expressed are mine based on the last half an hour of lustful window-shopping.

I’m Totally Versatile

Well yesterday was a nice day for the blog. I was given not one, but TWO Versatile Blogger awards.

Versatile Blogger Award

The first was from Tania at Mom and Baby Beautiful. The other was from Karen at 365 Pearls of Wisdom.  Both were totally unexpected, and both were really appreciated. It is lovely when someone thinks highly enough of you to publicly give you kudos.

So I guess there are rules that go with the award.

  • Thank the person who gave you this award.
  • Include a link to their blog.
  • Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.
  • Select 5 blogs that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.
  • Nominate (award) those 5 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.

I can’t think of seven things about myself at the moment, but if you’re really that curious, you can always check out the 101 facts about myself I posted last month!

As for the blogs I am nominating, please forgive me, as I love so many and don’t want to offend anyone. But these gals have all really moved me in the past few months.
