I know I’ve been blogging for a long time over at SnuggleBubby, but as this is a totally new blog, I figured a real introduction was in order. Especially as it coincides with the blog prompt for the 31 Day Blog Challenge hosted by Emma at Boy Oh Boy. So here we go.
Day 1 – Introduction and Recent Photo
So this is me. My name is Katie Vyktoriah Reed, although I am legally known by more than one alias. I am thirty years old and a mother to a gorgeous blonde monkey called Dexter. I am also a seemingly permanent fiancee to Mark.
I am an American, but I have lived in the UK for over a decade. In about three week’s time, my little family will be picking up sticks and moving BACK to the USA to start our lives over and try to find an everlasting happiness and peace in our homeland. I am in equal parts ecstatic and terrified!
I am a full time stay-at-home mother, and I have no plans to change that, although who knows what may happen in future? I am an artist and crafter and a keen amateur photographer. I love to cook, but I’m a terrible baker.
I started blogging in mid-2010, just after finding out I was pregnant with my son. I kind of lost myself in the world of “mommies” and lost track of who I was as a PERSON. So about a week ago, I started this blog, with the intention to stop fixating only on my child and start getting back in to ALL of my passions.
I was married to an Englishman for over seven years, but it didn’t work out. We happily remained good friends. Which is apparently weird.
My fiance, Mark, asked me to marry him on our first date. We moved in together after only 2.5 months and we were pregnant two weeks later. So yes, I move fast. We got engaged in our living room, eating pizza when I was 7 months pregnant. I asked him. But since, as I mentioned, he asked me on our first date, I maintain that it’s his fault.
I ramble. A lot. I tweet. A lot. And since my entire family and most of my friends are in another country, I basically LIVE online.
I guess that’s me in a nutshell.

You sound like me. I moved in with my now husband after knowing him 2 months. We married on our 3rd month of dating and we’ve now been married for 6 years with 2 children. Funny how things work out that way.

I know what you mean, though. It’s crazy when I tell people how quickly things moved between my fiance and me, but the truth is that when it’s right, there’s no reason to wait or draw things out. :) Your story gives me even more hope for my life. :D
